Abstract

This study cover two aspects related to the General History of Peru (1611-1613) by Fray Martín de Murúa. First point deals with the two known manuscripts of the chronicle and the various editions of the text. The second to the censorship to which the book was submitted, censorship that, according to the author, has not been considered until today in the known editions of Murúa's work. In this second aspect some examples of the inquisitorial and also political censorship are highlighted.
