The excavation "of Roa Bastos and" Emma Zunz "of Borges, in honor of the truth

Abstract

This article described the intertextual relationship between the story "The Dig†(Thunder among leaves, 1953) by Augusto Roa Bastos and Borge Ìs "Emma Zunz†(The Aleph, 1949), using contrastive analysis. I also present the second version of "The Dig†(Burnt Wood, 1967) and compare it with the first, noting the removal of intertextuality with Borges. Finally, I present this change to interpretation, commenting on the distinction between "moral truth†and "factual truth†presented in the two storys.
