The poetics of truth or truth about a poetic ?: Second round table on Arguedas

Abstract

By our point of view, two events illuminate the cultural scene of the year that opens the second decade of the third millennium in Peru. The awarding of the Nobel Prize for Literature to Mario Vargas Llosa and the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of José María Arguedas. Both writers symbolize the problems and possibilities of Peru as a nationality in the making. One of the intentions of our words at the presentation of the above-mentioned text, to which I was invited, and which I reiterate in this writing, has been to exhort institutions, academics and intellectuals to promote the reading of the works of these two great writers at school.
