Abstract

Following pages are a sort of preliminary essay, purely tentative, aimed at explaining the Yaraví of Mariano Melgar from the concept of ''traditional poetry'', heterodoxy used for this purpose. "Perhaps a simple hypothesis could be said that it aims to clarify a new perspective for a better understanding of one of the most important facets of Melgar's poetry -his Yaraví-, without trying to exhaust all its virtualities, which would demand a wealth of information, materials and knowledge that are not ours.
