The dimensions of national identity

Abstract

The identity in Peru is one of the most important issues in modern national history. It begins from the very moment the conquest takes place. In recent years, both because of the commemoration of five centuries of the so-called "Meeting of Two Worlds", and because of the approach of the new millennium, this issue of national identity has taken on greater momentum. It is terrible to note that at the beginning of the third millennium and after almost two hundred years of independence we have not yet reached the maturity of knowing who we are.
