Copyright protection in Peru

Abstract

When John Gutenberg (1440) perfected the press, and with it the printing system, he allowed the reproduction of books on a large scale and the rise of the publishing and book industry, which in the course of history became one of the most important vehicles in the diffusion of man's ideas and culture in general. During the era of feudalism, the free circulation of ideas was restricted and censored, and consequently of books. However, over time, de León Penagos (1993) states: "The book spread the ideas of French encyclopaedism and created a liberal conscience; it also served to subjugate and generate the servility of the American Indians, but also to free the New World from European domination".
