Abstract

Toponymy is a study of a social nature, which starts with the registration of place names that have received one or more designations by man, during his period of settlement in great civilisations, such an inventory passes through the linguistic analysis of their forms. Due to its social nature it is considered a wealth of cultural data, if we refer to the ethnolinguistic contributions it gives rise to.
